청년 예술의 돌풍, 지역에서 세계로



‘아트 블리츠 광주(Art Blitz Gwangju)’는 팬데믹 이후 한동안 멈춰 섰던 광주 미술 생태계에 새로운 활기를 불어넣고자 기획된 축제형 전시 프로젝트입니다. 이 전시는 단순한 작품 전시를 넘어, 예술가 간의 연결과 지역사회의 포용을 지향하는 실험적인 플랫폼입니다.



예술경영지원센터의 '신진작가전시지원'사업의 지원으로 열리는 본 전시는, 광주와 전국 각지에서 활동 중인 55여 명의 역량 있는 청년 예술가들이 함께하며, 회화, 조각, 공예, 미디어 아트, 퍼포먼스 등 다양한 장르를 통해 예술의 힘으로 새로운 창조적 돌풍을 일으킵니다.



아트블리츠광주는 2017년 부터 광주지역 작가들의 작품을 선보인 김냇과의 지하, 1층, 2층 전관과 인근의 영무파라드 오피스텔 201동의 1층의 공실을 활용하여 300여 점의 작품을 선보입니다.
김냇과 지하는 레이저를 활용한 미디어 아트를 선보이며 나머지 공간에서는 회화, 조각, 공예, 미디어 등 다양한 장르의 작품을 만날 수 있습니다.



예술가의 연결, 커뮤니티의 회복

‘연결과 포용’을 키워드로 삼은 이번 전시는, 팬데믹으로 흩어진 예술가 커뮤니티를 다시 이어 붙이고, 협업과 네트워킹을 통해 창작의 연대를 실현합니다. 참여 작가들은 단순히 개인 작품을 전시하는 것이 아니라, 릴레이 PT 프로그램, 네트워킹 파티, 비평 세션 등을 통해 상호 교류하며 성장하는 기회를 갖습니다.

A Whirlwind of Contemporary Art – From the Local to the Global



Art Blitz Gwangju is a festival-style exhibition project designed to revitalize the Gwangju art scene, which had momentarily come to a halt during the pandemic era. More than a conventional art show, this project presents itself as an experimental platform that fosters connection among artists and inclusion within the local community.



Supported by the Korea Arts Management Service’s Emerging Artist Exhibition Grant, this exhibition features over 55 dynamic young artists working in and beyond Gwangju. Across a wide range of media—including painting, sculpture, craft, media art, and performance—the participating artists unleash a whirlwind of creativity and bold experimentation.



Since 2017, Gallery Kimnaetgwa has been committed to showcasing the works of local artists in Gwangju. For this edition, Art Blitz Gwangju expands across all three floors of Kimnaetgwa and extends into a vacant commercial unit on the first floor of the Youngmoo Parade Office-tel Building (201-dong). More than 300 artworks will be presented in total.



The basement level will host immersive media art installations, including works utilizing laser projection and digital technologies.



The first-floor gallery, which also functions as a café, will feature two-dimensional paintings on the walls and carefully placed sculptures that harmonize with the existing spatial flow. The front yard of the gallery will showcase large-scale sculptural works installed simultaneously, creating a sense of artistic abundance.



The second-floor gallery, often used as a performance space, will be transformed using large-scale semi-circular wooden beam structures. These provide a unified visual anchor where multiple works can be viewed as one monumental installation. Additional modular structures will also allow for more works to be displayed in front of the glass windows.



Reconnecting Artists, Restoring Community

With "Connection and Inclusion" as its core themes, this exhibition seeks to reconnect the fragmented artist community in the aftermath of the pandemic. Through collaborative projects, relay-style artist presentations (PT), networking parties, and peer critique sessions, artists are encouraged not only to exhibit, but to engage, support, and grow alongside one another.
