지수김 Siesu Kim

김지수는 낯선 환경에서 마주하는 사람과 사람, 일상과 풍경 사이에서 형성되는 관계에 주목한다. 그 관계 속에서 발생하는 예기치 못한 이름과 상황, 그로 인해 변화하는 자신의 감정과 신체적 반응을 민감하게 포착하고, 이를 ‘몸의 기록’으로 시각화한다. 일상에서 비롯된 상처와 욕망, 흔들리는 정체성과 기억은 작가의 몸을 통과해 표현되고, 이는 곧 세계와 연결되는 하나의 언어가 된다. 주로 ‘몸‘이라는 ’장소‘를 매개로 관계와 이야기의 가능성을 탐색하며, 개인의 경험이 사회와 역사, 정치의 흐름 속에서 어떻게 구성되고 소외되는지를 질문한다. 작가는 존재의 조건을 묻고, 그 안에서 살아가는 몸의 흔적을 기록하며, 개인의 서사가 사회적 맥락과 맞닿아 있음을 드러낸다. 주요 개인전으로는 《Come and Go 2》(2024, 스페이스형), 《Naked Flesh》(2024, 갤러리스페이스O), 《Come and Go》(2023, 플레이스막2), 《ROOM》(2021, 학고재아트센터) 등이 있다.

Siesu Kim focuses on the relationships that emerge between people, everyday life, and landscapes encountered in unfamiliar environments. She sensitively observes the unexpected names, situations, and emotional or physical responses that arise within these relationships, and visualizes them as “records of the body.” Wounds and desires rooted in daily life, along with shifting identities and memories, are expressed through the artist’s body, becoming a language that connects with the world. Using the body as a site of inquiry, Kim explores the potential of relationships and narratives. Her work poses questions about how individual experiences are shaped and often marginalized within broader social, historical, and political contexts. By recording the traces of a body navigating existence, the artist reveals how personal stories inevitably intersect with the collective landscape. She graduated from the Department of Fine Arts (Painting) at Gangneung-Wonju National University. Her major solo exhibitions include Come and Go 2 (2024, Space Hyeong), Naked Flesh (2024, Gallery Space O), Come and Go (2023, Place Mak2), and ROOM (2021, Hakgojae Art Center).
