황수빈 HUANG XOO VEEN

작가 황수빈은 우주를 관찰하면서 생명체에 대한 호기심이 현대 분자생물학이나 혹은 유전학 같은 과학적인 근거를 두고 출발한 것은 아니다. 그러나 상상 속 모든 유기물들의 마이크로 세계가 그 대척점에 있는 대우주의 모습과 닮아있다는 점에 본인의 시점으로 바라본 소우주에 대한 표현이 시작됐다. macrocosm 안 모든 유기체들들은 그 우주 안의 또 다른 microcosm라며 100만 분의 1만큼 작아져 우리 몸속에 있는 기관을 마치 탐험하는 상상을 증진시키기 위해 육안으로 필터 할 수 없는 생물들로 표현하여 뒤 섞인 이미지들을 통해 공간을 구축하고 모호함을 만들어 내고자 했다. 현재에 머무르며 과거에 살고 있거나 미래에 살며 생멸(生滅)의 반복으로 영원한 생명력에 이야기하기 위해 미시적 관점에서 우리가 쉽게 접할 수 없는 공간을 확장과 축소들을 은유적인 표상들을 나타내고 있다. 그리고 최소한의 인간이 갖는 원초적 욕망과 미망(迷妄)을 카오스적 형상을 통해 동시에 드러내고자 했다. 또한 생명체와 무생물과의 경계가 모호해지는 지점까지 무한 반복되는 순환과정 속에 우주에 대한 근원적인 물음을 던질 것이다.

Artist Huang Xooveen's curiosity about living things while observing the cosmos did not start with scientific grounds such as modern molecular biology or genetics. However, the expression of the microcosm viewed from my own point of view began, as the microcosm of all organic matter in my imagination resembles the image of Daewoo-ju at its opposite point. All the organisms in the macrocosm are another microcosm in the universe, and we tried to build space and create ambiguity through mixed images by expressing the organs in our bodies as creatures that cannot be filtered with the naked eye to enhance the imagination of exploring. To talk about eternal life through repetition of 滅, living in the past or living in the future, with the theme of the universe, metaphorical representations of expansion and reduction in space that we cannot easily encounter from a microscopic perspective are presented. And we tried to simultaneously reveal the original desires and illusions (迷妄) of humans through chaotic images. It will also pose a fundamental question about the universe in an infinite and repetitive cycle to the point where the boundary between living and non-living things becomes blurred.
