<작업론>
나는 인물의 표정과 몸짓에서 흘러나오는 순간적인 본심을 포착하려 한다.
사람들은 종종 감정을 숨기려 하지만, 억눌린 마음은 의도치 않은 제스처와 시선 속에서 드러난다. 억지된 웃음에 깃든 불안, 가만히 놓인 손끝에 스며든 긴장은 인간의 내면을 말없이 드러낸다. 그것은 언어로 설명되지 않는 진실의 조각이며, 붙잡고 싶은 심리적 흔적이다.
작업은 겉으로 드러나는 얼굴을 벗겨내려는 것이 아니라, 표면의 틈새에서 새어 나오는 본심을 기록하는 과정에 가깝다. 그 순간 드러나는 감정은 한 가지로 규정되지 않고, 불안과 평온, 갈망과 거부 같은 상반된 결을 동시에 품고 있다. 이러한 복잡하고 모호한 감정의 결은 회화 속에서 또 다른 언어로 번역된다.
색과 선은 단순한 시각적 요소가 아니라 본심이 스며드는 흔적이자 내면의 움직임을 드러내는 매개체가 된다. 이 과정을 통해 인물이 가진 외형 너머의 심리적 실재가 탐색되며, 끝내 숨길 수 없는 본심의 그림자가 시각적 사유로 드러난다.

I seek to capture the fleeting sincerity that emerges through a person’s expressions and gestures. Although people often attempt to conceal their emotions, suppressed feelings inevitably surface in unintentional movements and glances. The unease behind a forced smile or the quiet tension resting in a hand silently reveals the inner self. These are fragments of truth beyond words—the psychological traces I aim to preserve.
My work is not an effort to strip away the outer face but rather a process of recording the sincerity that seeps through its surface. The emotions that emerge in these moments cannot be defined in singular terms; they contain both anxiety and calm, longing and denial, coexisting within the same presence. Such complex and ambiguous sensations are translated into another visual language upon the canvas.
Color and line serve not merely as visual elements but as traces of sincerity, mediating the subtle movements of the inner self. Through this process, the psychological reality beyond outward form is explored, and the shadow of truth—what cannot ultimately be concealed—finds expression as visual contemplation.
